  • The President must rally all Democrats--Progressives, Bull dogs, whatever, to support a program of action which picks up the recommendations of the Commission that he established to look at what can be done to reduce the deficit while recognizing the need to stimuate the economy. This means biting the bullet by way of entitlement reduction and new taxes! Action NOW!!

  • I found President Obama's State of the Union speech visionary and on target. Most importantly, he reached out again, and again, to Republicans urging them to work together on the difficult issues of our time. He has continued to pursue bipartisanship long past when my own patience would have been exhausted. Yet, I think he is right to do so, and I hope Republicans will respond constructively. Investment in education and innovation is absolutely vital to our survival; Obama tells it like it is!

  • Innovation really is the answer for our country and our county, Jim. You nailed that point and make a great connection between innovation and education. Thank goodness the President has thoughtful, intelligent guys like you to help him implement his vision for the future. Competitiveness = innovation + education + infrastructure investment. That's a winning formula.

The President's speech was a humdinger. Let's get to work and make it happen

  • Can you say Obama-Zombie? At 1:30 he make some sense...but sets the time line at 15 years. Come on Jim! We need solutions NOW 15 years??? That'll be 45 Trillion dollars of RED INK. We can't wait that long.

  • Agree with your reactions and highlights and hope everyone in the room was listening. I was especially happy to hear the President call for reform of our tax laws. Something with this many loopholes and moving parts can not be fair to anyone. I should not have to pay someone to help me fillout my tax return, it is just crazy.
