An United States Army Air Corps WWII bombardier, Bill's plane was shot down three times. He was a prisoner of war in Germany for two years, and for six months his mother believed Bill was dead. The POW camp he was held in was ultimately liberated by Gen. Patton, who arrived saying, "Gentlemen, your vacation is over." For his service Bill earned a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star and Distinguished Flying Cross. After his military service, Bill went to Hollywood and got into motion pictures.
A great story teller. I met Bill through my Uncle Floyd Boutrous years ago in LA. My father was there and he flew B-17s out of London along side and was lucky to get home alive. Bill's tale here is really remarkable and funny at the same time being deadly serious. Thanks to my cousin Mike Boutrous for sending this link to me, wish my dad had done something like this, but he was too shy to be filmed.

I live in L.A. My first cousin Bill Nassif lives in Minnesota. I am one of many of his friends and relatives. He is a great guy. Funny. Honest. Sweet. We are proud of him. He told me his war stories. Many besides the above. I know he suffered during and after the war. He never complained. Always helpful and friendly. Bill, we love you. Alex Nassif.
