Watch 32 ft Danish Rose Dutch Motorsailer "Sjouwerman" crossing Harwich-Oostende June 9th 2011, the weather forecast was 3-4 SW in the morning and around 2 SW in the afternoon. Around 10 am wind picked up to 5 Bft., later to good 6 with very heavy seas and gusts of 7 Bft. and waves up to 3m. We started out with our gennaker doing 6.5 kts, but had to take it down at 5 Bft. Crew: Peter Leeuwenburgh (skipper), Henk Molendijk and Kees Weerens. THE WHOLE 17 HOUR TRIP IS COVERED IN PARTS 1-6. The crossing was made with our friends Marjolein and Alfred Vogelsang of the 32 ft. Winner named "Witte Woerd" as part of a 2 week trip. The rest of our "convoy" (Azurra, Lotjop, Weereendje and Arca would stay one more week to visit London.
