  • The woman singing (Stoney) is Shaun Murphy of Little Feat. She has been a backup singer for Eric Clapton & Bob Seger to name a few and in my opinion is one of the best female singers of our time!

  • Wow cool thanks for shedding some light on her!

She (Stoney Shawn Murphy) also had a couple songs on MoWest label, but the 45 was moved over to the Motown label M-1246. This was when the MoWest was slowly crumbling, and many issues were not released.

other groups include: The Lorelies The Wild Angels Feminine Touch Wilson Mower Pursuit Bob Segar's Band

  • No, Its not Cissy Houston singing back-up. I used Telma Hopkins, Joyce Vincent (who would later become Dawn for Tony Orlando) and a third singer named Bunny.

  • OMG!! Please tell me that's Cissy Houston in the background. Nice song!

  • Shitty camera sound, but I can tell that it sounds amazing in person.

  • I owned that record in it's original US release... then came along separation from my missus, and she didn't hand over my personal belongings .... great LP, and I really miss having it.

  • Stoney: The one and only Shaun Murphy...still kickin' in 2011...just released her second solo album, "The Trouble with Lovin", (genre: blues, soul)...Shaun is a living legend and one of the greatest female singers to come out of Detroit in the last forty years. Search for her and find her band's website...can not post it here..thx!!!!
