This is the story of one of the original Dead End Kid actors of the 1930's and 1940's - Bobby Jordan.
HE WAS THE MOST OVERLOOKED ACTOR OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. This short film gives you a glimpse of his various talents and images of someone who should have been used much more by Hollywood and the entertainment industry.
Does anyone know if his rare movie "Reformatory" is able to be seen or purchased anywhere?

wanna know the reason he wasn't successful? Look at that profile and hair...too Jewish for major releases.

What's the movie at the end where they're standing behind a fence?

And he actually sung the song at the end? REALLY? Nice voice too! I always liked Bobby the most. He seemed so real and sincere, and with the kids in the bad neighborhood I grew up with, I would trust this delinquent over any of them! Didn't hurt that he was sexy too! Too bad the booze did him in. Rest in peace!

A nice tribute to an excellent, under-appreciated actor. Bobby Jordan was always my favorite Dead End / East Side Kid. Watching him in those movies, he clearly shines, and it remains a sad testament to the unfairness of Hollywood and of life in general that his talent was later overlooked. Hats off to a fine actor.

They Made Me A Crimunal-one of my favorite movies of all time-actually, the 1st time I saw it I watched it because of the Bowery Boys, it was on "The Late Show" one night back in the 70's-I miss the ol' late Show-there's nothing on except infomercials late at night now that movie turned me on to John Garfield-I always like Bobby jordan-it's a shame he died so young-basicly all of them did besides Huntz and Punsley-leo and Billy died in their late 50's early sixties i believe

He was in the Bonanza episode "The Many Faces of Gideon Finch" I loved him in the East Side Kids movies. He's so cute! I think besides Leo and Huntz, Bobby was my fav.

You know, I was all of 2 years old when Bobby Jordan passed away but I remember watching the Dead End/East Side Kids/Bowery Boys on Sunday when i was growing up. Slip (Leo Gorcey) and Sach (Huntz Hall) were themselves funny but Bobby was an overlooked guy; he had a lot of hidden talent and should have gone a lot further than he did - but of course he fell victim to the bottle, as do many others in the business. Thanks, Bobby, for sharing your talents
