Shanghai traffic

As in so many Eastern countries, Chinese traffic is a story all by itself. This short shot of a busy intersection in Shanghai shows a nice piece of applied chaos theory. There ins no sound, but imagine the accompanying concerto of car horns.

after living in China for a year I am not surprised by all the accidents, rather I am amazed that there aren't more. You eventually get used to having near death experiences daily, especially when riding a bike (which is even more common than driving) the one thing that prevents accidents is that the traffic is so congested that cars are forced to drive slower.
