  • This isnt amish, amish don't allow cameras... or technology.

  • @CarbonSteel93 i filmed this, at an amish auction....

  • @YesFatChance not an amish auction, like i said they refrain from using any technology at all, so microphone, cameras, lighting, electricity etc..

  • @CarbonSteel93 maybe where you live, but here in Canada, they use the bare minimum of technology (i.e. a microphone on special occasions)

  • @CarbonSteel93 the Amish use cell phones ect, but mainly when they arent home, they dont allow that kind of stuff at their homes

  • @brentshelli1 furniture store

  • There are different sects of Amish some use minmal tech. and some are very strict using no technology, at a furniture in Berlin Ohio they used gas lighting had a phone and fax machine connected with solar power.

  • I went to an Amish store in Branson Missouri and the people were clearly Amish that ran the store but they had lights, an electronic cash register and debit card scanner, and a security system.

  • The Amish have auctions to raise money for thier schools, medical bills, etc. What is shown in the video is exactly how it is in OH. There is a Yankee auctioneer with Amish men helping out. The technology is rented for the event, just like they pay a taxi driver to drive them around town. They can pay a Yankee for their services, howerver they do not own the technology. How do I know? Most of my family is Amish, however my dad 'yanked over' during his 'rumspringa' making me NOT Amish.

  • @CarbonSteel93

There are Amish people that do not shun technology. I seen some at WalMart, and they had a refrigerated trailer towed behind their buggy for their goods that they purchase. They had to add an extra 1 horsepower to pull it though.

  • @CarbonSteel93 They allow it, they just don't use it themselves. There are tones of Mennonites around here that live just like everyone else though, they just dress Amish and are a very religious people. They are very nice though, and the food they sell in their stores is top notch organic and made locally. With the non-Mennonites, It's not like they are gonna grab your cell phone and stomp on it if you use one around them or something. They just don't use technology themselves.

  • @CarbonSteel93 Amish, like all other people will use technology if it suits their needs. That includes cameras, telephones etc.

  • well: in my humble opinion:they, the Amish people, would agree with a generator, which would produce electricity , without the lack of connecting to national path- the Englisher's one.Consequently, everything is fine for them.
