This is basically what TV for kids should still be like, unlike the ELMO lunacy we have now.

This is a picture perfect film. Such beautiful animation that truly helps to bring these kids to life. What I love is that these are real kids doing what actual kids do. Beautiful.

Any parent that has raised a baby girl and been through the recorder phase should be overpowered by this video to the point of needing counseling its so accurate. its like hearing your own child or children in your ears live, stuff you should have recorded.

@Jazz8 If you're willing to shell out about $100 you can get "art and jazz in animation", a DVD filled to the brim with Hubley stuff including of men and demons.

Wow. Beautiful. I'm not acquainted with John Hubley's work. Actually, I looked for this because of Georgia Hubley (now drummer of Yo La Tengo); but this kinda surprise me. It's gorgeous.

I went to graduate school specifically to study with John Hubley in 1976. He had just returned from England where he had been the original director for Watership Down. Right after I arrived in the east Everybody Rides the Carousel debuted on TV.
I was asked to help with voice casting for the Doonsberry special.
Soon it was announced he was in the hospital for a check up. I made him a get well soon card and gave a copy of The Golden Key. A day later he was dead. I was in shock and disoriented.

Very innovative! I remember this fondly. Been looking for "Of Men and Demons" - haven't been able to find it.
Who was John Hubley?
Or Faith Hubley?

As you might suspect, they were animators.
Google "hubley", the PBS "Independent Spirits" links for John & Faith are very good.
You may also want to check out the Emily Hubley & Georgia Hubley Google links as well (their daughters who were featured in Windy Day & Cockaboody) The Hubley independent spirit is still alive.
