  • yes it was a lovely car to drive sat on the road really well just seemed a shame that they never put a good head gasket on it to start with, so may of them around here parked up in scrapyards all head Gaskits.

  • @Cattachmore22 too bad grand wee motor.all the same. i fixed a fair few with the modified gaskit. seems to have cured the problem.

  • There you go I was always told that the only way the Head Gasket could be done on this and the Rover 25 was a engine out job because of the bolts going all the way down, I seen a perfectly good car scraped because of that, now I know different thanks for showing that it can be done with care, and by a guy that knows what he is doing.

  • @Cattachmore22 thanks youn fella.

  • @Cattachmore22 nicest wee car to drive the rover. just needed the modified gaskit, fitted.

  • @Liamautomechanic hi. I've got ok mechanical knowledge, worked around machinery and farm vehicles for years.

How hard is the HG to replace?

Could i attempt it myself? Ive watched lots of great videos including yours and it look pretty straigh forward apart from taking the head to be skimmed if its warped?
