Did anybody see the footage from Black Friday 2011? It was basically the same as this, but way more violent!

@Retard3451 Yes, Shaun of the Dead is a parody of this film, hence the title similarities...the similar music...and the inclusion of zombies...taking the name retard a bit too literally my friend. I'm just fooling around friend, but yes it is.

@simoncarl70 It's meant to convey a the crazy consumeristic society we live in. It is satirical. As a filmmaker, I can tell you that a song doesn't always have to fit. The song is sometimes used to counterbalance the serious nature of a situation.

@DigitalAgeGrunt Movie producers got greedy. The 80's slasher frenzy corrupted the genre beyond repair. Scream (1996) tried to save it, but soon got caught in the corporate greed, leading to poor sequels. Then around 2004 the remake trend became popular to cash in on the lack of originality. Truly scary movies with substance are rare findings nowadays.

Such a masterful ending, The Gonk is the perfect piece of music to set the tone for the overall message of Dawn, modern society is a circus filled with zombie-like "consumers" (consumer=zombie, both feast and kill but never create/breed life like humans).
It's kind of disheartening to see so many kids throw this masterwork under the bus for the remake, or they equate it with "epic ftw memes!" Horror films like this used to have serious substance, what the hell happened?

Imagine how much more awesome these ending credits would have seemed if they had stuck with the original suicide ending.
