Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg describes why she chose to become Music Director of San Francisco's New Century Chamber Orchestra.
The video includes live footage of New Century performing Clarice Assad's "Impressions: Suite for Chamber Orchestra" and Astor Piazzolla's "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires", both of which will be included on the orchestra's first CD with Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, slated for release in July 2009.

@meis2steph11 it may become messy if the whole orchestra plays it. The pieces were only written for chamber orchestra.

So what if it is a string ensemble? Instead of counting the number of instruments, listen to the music itself. Then you can enjoy this video, and realize how amazing it is.

Well this would be smart if this was actually an orchestra but sadly its just a string ensemble

I am ecstatic! I had no idea of Nadja's new appointment. Now, another reason to go to San Francisco. The last I saw her was at Disney Hall in LA where she blew the roof off the building. Awesome talent.....

I agree! I had the same type of emotiomuscular/motor/vascular experience when I heard Nadja play the Shostakovich concerto with the Minnesota Orch. a few years ago.
