there are certain plants that reduce blood pressure, you may think about researching them and planting a small mobil garden of them, so your wife can stay well when shtf.

now if SHTF how are you going to load 1000lbs of can goods around with you, cause if SHTF you are not going to say in one location you will have to move around alot and stay in hiding or others will TAKE your little stock pile, and probably serve you up as a side dish, people today dont really know anything about preping for real, people just do not know how to survive off the earth along the way anymore, people 2000 years ago didnt haul tons of can goods around they knewe how to live day to day

@juki0h the problems with that...Natural disasters, Nuclear fallout when things don't grow small amounts of canned food can keep you going for a long time and your body adjusts because you will be living harder, working to survive as opposed to working for someone else.

canned goods are good for survival situations, but they are also very bad for you to eat all the time. like CAsurvivalist said, make a garden, eat healthy greens and fruits. if you live in a hot climate area, plant some avocado tree. have a house in hawaii with a big ass avocado tree, TONS of them, could eat for an entire year!

One piece of advise regarding beans ad rice: Keep the new bags for at least 2 weeks in the freezer, prior to stocking in a dark closet, because sometimes tiny larvae live inside some beans, and with time, can destroy all our dried seed.

I almost died when I heard that you stock 4 shot!

Knocking fox squirrels out of the top of pine trees? .22lr my friend. But if they are anywhere else on the tree it's all about 6 shot. 6 shot falls into the range of the inexpensive shells, it's just as cheap as 8 shot but it can be used MUCH MUCH more successfully on a wider variety of animals than any other shot size.
