My recommendation: If you insist on using a blowtorch, back that thing WAAAAAYYY off. You're ripping through your bud with so much heat. The torch should be 3-6 inches from the bud, otherwise you're not maximizing the amount of smoke you could produce. It's like when you put wood chips in a high-powered furnace; you're not producing as much smoke than if it smoldered at a lower temp.

See how the metal screen turns red from the absurd heat? No good, bro.

Oh yeah, and lose the screen.

@ismokealotofbowls Fair enough, but I still think it would be a good idea to back it off anyways. The universal optimal temperature of THC extraction is around 365ºF, and at any higher temperature you start to lose valuable cannaboids. I'm assuming that's a butane torch you're using, which can reach temperatures of 1700ºF. Back 'er way off, and I promise you'll be pleased with the results.

@windowlicker1 i sense the sarcasm, but really that doesnt do justice to how stupid these people really are. i often find myself telling people off, then smoking a bowl and realizing how much of a douche ive been being, there is no need to responde to them they are either non smokers or very young. not to say non smokers or young smoker are stupid, but those are the catagories i find most trouble with when it comes to pot.
