Your photos are great.
I learned that when using extension tube the camera will not select certain functions.

I fortunate to have picked up new the canon 100 mm lens. Would there be any advantage to adding any of the digital tubes mentioned in this video? In addition I see that you are not using a ring flash for your macro work. What basic guidelines do you have for when and when not to use such a tool?
Thanks in advance,

@meltdownman1 100mm is a nice lens. But extension tube will give it much better close up capability. Even 11mm or 12mm tube will make a world of difference.
Ring flash is a good tool. Also if you already have a shoe mount flash you can make a diy snoot / angled extension. (just search google for DIY macro snoot)

I don't have the wonderful equipment that you have. I only have a Nikon Coolpix l110. Is there anything you can suggest it is good to take photos with?

@willowbranwen coolpix 110 is a pretty good camera. you can try most of tutorials from learnmyshot channel and with that camera you should get great results. I am not too sure about real close up macro but for all other applications it's great
