Ah the mastercraft maximum router. Just picked it up for 99 bucks on sale. 2HP, 1/4, 1/2 collets, 2 plunge bases, led worklight, variable speed, slow start.. Great for a pantorouter or mortising machine..
Even though you adjusted the slides to reduce play, wouldn't they still flex enough to throw off the accuracy? What are the downsides of using a design like your tenon jig for this application? would the bushings bind when under pressure? I'd hate to build something like this only to have if flex and be a waste of time.

Flex has not been a problem at all. The forces aren't that great. The downside of shafts and bushings is that they take up much more room and don't slide as easily.

Its a router, the type that comes with interchangeable fixed and plunge bases.
