  • I agree, the onboard sound from a video of these cars tends to sound rubbish. You did well, adding the music.

Was that sort of an airbag in your chest?

How did u get to drive the car?

  • Hi megahurtz,

Many thanks for your comment !

The airbag like is the fully integrated system unit for embarked camera which is totally autonomous and therefore needs to find place somewhere (not easy into a Formula). But it's so light (volume=mainly protection) that you actually don't feel it.

Concerning the opportunity to drive such a car : it was on request (for the on board video and the related movie (+/-30 minutes), via a dedicated company organizing such motorsports events on track.

  • Assuming from your choice of music you've played a bit GTR1 and/or GTR2 -- and probably other racing simulators.

So tell me, and everyone else curious, how does the best simulators (with F3000 cars) compare to the real thing, i.e. not the overall experience obviously, but the physics, are they somewhat accurate? Missing sensory stimuli from the movements and vibrations of the car cannot be simulated of course, but the physics can.

You need to give that car some more throttle by the way. ;-)

  • No idea about the simulators related to F3000 but I am one of those thinking that simulators are good racing and motorsports experience, even if you do not have the forces feeling. It's already a great pleasure to virtually drive but of course nothing can be better to feel than the real (with all it implies !) You're perfectly right about the trottle but trial a not owned car is not always the best way to reach its limits. Next time, for sure !!!...

  • awesome!! very good video, i wanted to see a onboard like this, really great! (but i think is better music off)

I would love drive one of this...xD How did you get do it? are you professional?

well I sometiemes go to jarama to see races (whenever there are races, but are rarely....) And i have two videos, you can see them

  • yeah its zolder

  • Yes

  • Sequential gear box,am I correct?

  • OK, as a pilot I understand. You're right. In fact, this movie has been achieved for public broadcasting. That's the reason for so much music, because when you play it a whole day, music is better for people than hours of engine sound. But we were thinking that this F3000 test day was interesting to publish on YouTube anyway for what it is. We keep in mind your comment for future relases !

  • There's a good point too. I don't dislike music, but when there's an onboard camera I like everyone to shut up, the people commenting, music, everything off. So you can really try to feel it. Know how the driver drives, what would you do instead. Not for the nice of the sound, because i dont like 4stroke neither, rather for what he does, shiftdown, etc.
