Let me tell Y'all something. I am 50 years old now. I remember seeing these movies on ABC Movie of the Week when they aired in prime-time in 1972-73. They were so cool! Scared us to death! The Night Stalker was better, but Night Strangler had its appeal. We wanted more. There was supposed to be another tv movie, but Darren McGavin had problems with Dan Curtis as a director. ABC wanted more, thus the weekly tv show. As a teenager the 2 movies scared me to death. I hope you new folks enjoy them!

I really wished more movies were made of "The Night Stalker"with Dan Curtis(Dark Shadows) at the helm. They were creepy! The TV series just wasn't the same (although the late, great Darren McGavin made it watchable),And like Columbo,Carl Kolchak was one of the greatest detectives of all time-or as Carl put it "I'm just a dumb reporter'.

Ah, who wants to live forever, Dr. Malcolm? All your family and friends are long gone. Kolchak did you a favor.

At 3:47 is oneof my favorite scenes in this TV classic. If it was made today and if i was Carl Kolchak, i added AND F*CK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! to the yellng part.

You know,I think it would have pretty cool if the killer had turned out to be Wally Cox.

@mmedefarge Thank you for the info. Much appreciated

@MegaWolfgang There really is an underground, old city of Seattle. The Travel Channel (I think) have an excellent video about it. I watched it on YT a couple of years ago; you might still be able to find it here. In any case, there are a bunch of vids on YT about the Seattle underground city.

I miss the 70's and all the yelling in T.V. shows.

@TileGuyJesse no, it doesn't seem to be the same lady. The lady I'm talking about is nerdy, perhaps Jewish and a little whiny

Thanks so much, naysgrace, for showing this movie.
If any of you reside in the town of Riverhead [Suffolk County, NY], I donated the entire VHS set of 'The Night Stalker' to Riverhead Free Library. This was a period during the late 90's when I got into getting hard-to-find programs through Ebay. I bought a lot of ABC 'Movie of the Week' titles as well. Pressed for space, I had to part with most of the collection. By the way, 'The Girl Most Likely' can be found at the Lindenhurst Library.

I was also looking for VHS sets for some of my fav shows from the 80s and even on ebay they are difficult to find! That was a great donation!

Simon Oakland & Darren McGavin had amazing chemistry through this series. I also think that Darren was a very under rated actor !! I have always been a huge fan of his - in fact I went on his official website and sent a message and I received an answer the next day !
