@PumaPhreak1 You are correct ! I spent 7 years on methadone and laam parttime --they have disallowed laam now! heart problems....Methadone worked if you call not sleepin for 35 days and and stomach that is "gone"....CHOOSE THE BUPRENORPHINE 1ST if you can AFFORD IT ..peace

@ryanthethird I work in a primary care clinic in SW Virginia where we treat people addicted to opioids with buprenorphine (Suboxone or Subutex). If used correctly, it can save lives. It's not as addicting because it is a partial agonist as compared to a full agonist for opioid receptors. I'm glad it has worked well for you.

i was born long after the VW. but i was a junky for a while, and this song used to make me so sad. it still does, but for different reasons. sad songs can really tell a story. even though this is a veterans song, it reaches a lot of people who are just trying to make sense of their lives. john prine can make you feel someting, even when you're numb.
