I think ultra wide angle lenses are not so good to be used to record this kind of event (walking to record enviroment around you) because peoples around looks so distorted. I guess the widest lense should be around 11-24 mm in DSLR with 1.5-1.6 ratio.

Thanks! I bought the 7-14mm used on ebay. I don't think it will lose its value very much. This is much better than Olympus M. Zuiko 9-18mm. I sold it in disappointment.

@ohhohhohh You won't regret paying a few hundred bucks more for Merlin than Glidecam and some other stuff. Much much easier to balance and compact. Resale value in used market is high too,
