@flamedrag18 once a capacitor is charged it will hold a charge until the the terminals are shorted and the difference in potential is brought back to 0.
If anyone knows the name of this program, then please let me know. It seems to be a great study tool, especially when it comes to learning and understanding the flow of current in a circuit. I would like to try and play around with this application myself.
so how a capacitor works is by storing energy from a source and then you send the stored energy into another path? can you charge a capacitor, remove it from the power sources and connect it onto another circuit? or does it always need to be connected to the power source like in the video?

What program is this?

Remove a capacitor, still holding a charge, then short the terminals or wires with an insulated screwdriver to discharge.
High voltage stuff like in tv's or auto's can & will zap you permamently, apparently.

so, the yellow dots would be the negative charges racing in to ''get'' the positive (red dots) charges?

@flamedrag18 it can be completly removed. it will still hold a charge. capacitors are like rechargeable batteries.

@flamedrag18 you can remove the capacitor from everything and it will still hold a charge
