ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
NBC has rejected a anti-abortion ad submitted for its Super Bowl broadcast. After several days of negotiations, an NBC representative in Chicago told CatholicVote.org today that NBC and the NFL are not interested in advertisements involving "political advocacy or issues."

Brian Burch, President of CatholicVote.org reacted: "There is nothing objectionable in this positive, life-affirming advertisement. We show a beautiful ultrasound, something NBC's parent company GE has done for years. We congratulate Barack Obama on becoming the first African-American President. And we simply ask people to imagine the potential of every human life."

The ad reads: "This child's future is a broken home. He will be abandoned by his father. His single mother will struggle to raise him. Despite the hardships he will endure...this child...will become...the 1st African-American President." The ad concludes with the tagline, "Life: Imagine the Potential." The ad is the first of several ads in new campaign launched by CatholicVote.org.

  • I'm more on the pro life or anti abortion side than the pro choice or pro abortion side and I m not religious. I am agnostic, I am not a republican, I am anti war and I am VERY pro condom. I also have athiest and christian friends

stop pretending everyone that doesn't agree with sucking a fetus brain out is some dimwitted bible thumper that loves war, you are not as intelligent as you think you are mr. progressive.

to me this isn't an issue about god, it's about the dignity of HUMAN life.

  • @Ryebread092 So if my religious beliefs can't intrude on your life, then why can your non-religious beliefs intrude upon mine? I would say ignorance is not realizing that you may just be wrong. Your argument is counter-productive: it states that, for the sake of progress, religious people should shut up. I'm pretty sure the last time that happened, millions of Jews were sent to the incinerator. Is that progress? I guess for one man it was.

  • @iluvchocolateyeah2 So much for equality, eh? What about the child's rights?

  • @answerz2no1 it's an issue about women's rights!

  • Hitler's Third Reich played the role of God as they chose who was worthy of life, and who did not fit into their master plan of world domination. They would be experimented on and slaughtered in the most inhuman way to further his twisted aspiration. And now again today we see social engineers acting in very much the same way as they attempt to justify the slaughter of millions of innocent children in the name of women's health, choice, and overpopulation dangers... The next holocaust.

  • Um...faith and reason do not have to be at opposing ends of the spectrum (which he seems to imply). Both seek the truth. They are not the same, it is true, and some religious folks can be nuts. The same can be said for those who are so against religion as to bash anyone for having any kind of belief system at all (such as the creator). Getting rid of religion won't stop the problems he addresses. Changing hearts and minds so that people stop attaching themselves to these crazy "idols" will.

  • this guy's boring.

  • If a woman is pregnant and she's murdered, why do they charge the murderer with two counts of the crime? It seems that the liberal view is, "It's okay to kill unborn children who have never harmed anyone, but we'll stand up for the rights of those who rape or murder and we should not put them to death." These viewpoints are contradictory to one another.

  • @eleminatus Stop crying like a pussy. Move to Denmark if you like it there so much.

  • If you prove to me with physical evidence heaven and hell exist, I will believe in it and donate all my money to the local churches in my area. and GO....

  • I resent how most atheists deal with religion, just waving it away as myth, then they expect to be respected in their ideas. I'm Catholic, I am most definitely against abortion, but I am for giving the choice to those involved. Add onto this that my stance on abortion is in a personal level, just based on the fact that you're actually killing a person. I can admit that it's a gray area for some and having that choice is the smarter option.
