  • @elstroshitnonstop First of all, finish up your education. We have universities here that will fit every budget but don't come and think it's nothing but a party and music and festivals. People work, have bills and we have crime just like all cities. The effects of Katrina linger but the rebuilding of most areas remains a work in progress and is quite successful. In 5 years, I believe the city will be better than ever. Try to plan a visit before making any long term commitment.

  • @9thWardJukebox i am sixteen and live in england, i feel new orleans and louisiana is where my magnet is pulling. how hard is it to move there, and is it beyond repair after the hurricane?

  • @hassledguy Well, there's a lot more here to occupy your time while Allen is on the road. Frenchman St. appears to have been born from Katrina and is a gift to us locals. Go figure. The Warehouse District is as cool as anything I've seen in Manhattan. The there's our Saints and don't forget the Hornets. I actually have more fun at the Hornets games then the Saints games because I can holler and the officials can actually hear me which sometimes can be problematic. (Don't ask!)

  • frijoles con tortillas por favor....grab me a cerveza muchachi...too cool...It actually sounds like a young mac with a silly spanish accent....sounds like Jessie Hill on tambourine. ..I live for your uploads....one of your "subs???" I moved here for Allen Toussaint...didn't realize for the next 25 years he would play more often where I left than he would here, but I wouldn't run into him at Schwegmanns and every swell social event/fundraiser in town if I had stayed there either.

  • @sayyes2bull One of my subs moved here from England because of Fats. Your reasons are more then justifiable. Who Dat!!!

  • i saw dr. john open for the allman brothers, once. had never heard of him. i asked somebody, "where is he from?" "new orleans," they told me.

that was on saturday night. monday, i moved there. i tell people, "dr. john was the reason i moved to n.o. professor longhair was the reason i stayed."
