This is a bit of a spoiler...but if you watch and listen carefully at the Italian villa scene, that should help explain it to you.

I was really upset that Agent Fields died so soon in this movie. If another Bond film comes out, Gemma should return as another Bond Woman.

It's one of the scenes that Quantum of Solace released as promotional video along with M talking to Bond scene. Should be widely available soon on either msn, QoS' website or movieweb.
