Heaven forbid we let people without homes have a safe place to sleep for a few hours every night. The banks need those homes that they stole, after collecting years of interest payments from owners, to sit empty and unused.

For the owner who wants to rent the home its a catch 22. If they cut the utilities a squatter may light a fire to keep warm and end up burning the place down. But not securing the building may entice a stream of squatters once the word gets out. Springfield could always do a little more for the homeless but they get hung up on stupid stuff or think shipping the homeless off is the answer. Shaamex1
