Nara, Japan...Teacher!!! A Deer Ate My Homework!!!

1200 Deer rule the streets of Nara, Japan (close to Osaka and Kyoto). They are National Treasures and certainly make the city interesting...from my June 2007 trip. We even saw a deer eat a young students notebook!

No...just been here about 6 months. But, I was here last year visiting my fiancee. She's from Osaka. It was my first time traveling around Japan...did Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, etc. Then back to Canada. I finished up grad school there and moved here in this Spring.

I was just a stumbling/slack-jawed tourist when I made this vid.

Yeah, the perfect excuse, especially since the teacher was there to witness it happen!! I agree.....Japanese deer make weird noises :)

when I went to Nara I didn't read the signs and I thought it would be hilarious to chase a baby deer. not so funny in the end when you have a huge deer with massive antlers chasing you through a park and onto the road.. my family seemed to enjoy the whole thing though.

Nara is great place to go. I love there. Deer are not afraid of human. That tells a lot about this place:-)
