    Hint #2 for the USA

FCC 15.247 Spread Spectrum FCC Requirements

    Tx Output Power 1 Watt

Effective Isotropic Radiated Power 4 Watts (36dBm)

Antenna Gain: Limited to 6dBi (Output power must be

reduced 1dB for every dB gain over 6dBi)

Would you now explain to these radiated folks what e.r.i.p. means to anyone standing next to a smart meter. Also what is FSSP and how does a smart meter use it? FACTS KID. We want the FACTS.

    Hint #1 one for Canada

Transmitter Output Power and e.i.r.p. Requirements

    (1) For frequency hopping systems operating in the band 902-928 MHz, the maximum peak conducted

output power shall not exceed 1.0 W, and the e.i.r.p. shall not exceed 4 W if the hopset uses 50 or

more hopping channels; the maximum peak conducted output power shall not exceed 0.25 W, and

the e.i.r.p. shall not exceed 1 W if the hopset uses less than 50 hopping channels.

Where do you see ONE WATT?

    What does e.i.r.p. Mean?

Oh Lord, why do I get all of the idiots? You told me you were a 21 year old college student. Do you know how a smart meter sends its information? I am going to have to lead you out of the land of stupidity, into the land of facts. Where did you get the “the ISM band at roughly one watt” That 1 watt is for a transmitter that operates continuously. So idiot, are you telling me a smart meter transmits continuously?

I'm the one spreading Fear, uncertainty and doubt? Wow have you got this backward. I'll take this one question at a time here. Will every single patient with a brain implant or pace maker drop dead on the spot if they come within 20cm of -any- wireless device broadcasting in the ISM band at roughly one watt? All of them, every last one will immediately die like you say they will?

I'm not going to keep debating with someone so full of spite and hate for something so insignificant. I'm not even sure this whole string of comments could count as a debate. In all honesty you should really be ashamed of some of your posts here. You can yell and scream all you want, we can call each others posts "FUD" all day, but in the end you can't talk down and insult science to make it bend to your will. The truth about these devices will get out there, whether you like it or not.

Fredrique, just stop already. What you are doing is the dictionary definition of your favorite term "FUD". Look at your post with all the "OUCH''es in it, does that look like the post of a rationally thinking person to you? If you are concerned about your privacy and how these new meters affect it just say so, don't go covering it up with this boisterous and down right insane claims.

Hurting your customers for profit. Burning down homes for profit. Selling their privacy for profit and then having the balls to accuse good folks like us spreading FEAR. Someone has to stand up and tell the whole truth and not believe your stupid opinions to confuse this debate. According to you, Itron, FCC, US Congress, ACS, Industry Canada are all LIARS. Notice how I can also write many lines to cover up your opinions, just like you did to me and my FACTS.

OUCH Poor installation done by village idiots. OUCH Hurting patients with deep wire brain implants. OUCH Radiating children and families so you can fire a few meter readers. OUCH Installing a smart meter that is too dumb to detect an electrical bypass. OUCH Installing a smart meter that can not tell when its own ass is on fire. OUCH
