Everyone remembers Zig Zag! This episode comes from the Normans & The Battle Of Hastings - one I watched at primary school. Presented by the lovely Sheilagh Gilbey. Clip from 1985.
OH this takes me back! and i'm only 20, oooh sometimes i'm almost glad the tories cut funding and mucked up schools so we had to make do with dated videos, almost but not quite
This was the original theme tune and set of titles for Zig Zag , used between the programme's introduction in 1983 right up to 1994. From the 1995 series onwards they changed it to a more simplistic theme and a set of titles based on an animated map until the show was cancelled in the early/mid 2000s. This set of titles was better!

@RobinCarmody TV announcers always seemed to have plummy voices back then, didn't they?

Sheelagh Gilbey was great. Also great to hear the Zig Zag theme again. First time I've heard this tune in 25 years.

@milkvintage It's the music I think. I never found it as scary as Doctor Who or The Book Tower, but agree it was pretty sinister :)

They were still showing this Zig Zag intro as late as 1994... I remember being at school in the early 1990s and watching this!
