@ShatteredMercury Not disappears. Put aside. Medical science isn't exact. Many doctors will tell you that even if you go through surgery doing everything right people will die because the will of the person has a powerful effect on everything. I would think that now that she has kids she would push so much father to live and not just lie down and die.
-
@ArodWingfoot So you think that once a girl has kids ALL of her stress and suffering disappears simply because she has children to take care of? I agree that what's portrayed in the movie is unlikely, but I was merely trying to provide a plausible medical reason for which this could happen. Medically this is not about "will to live" (which can remain because of children) but an excess of toxic catecholamines (adrenalin) which lead to stunned myocardium and heart failure.
-
@ShatteredMercury I'd like to beluieve that but from what we have seen through medical science in the real world that once you have kids your primary love changes from your spouse to your kids. Thats why husbands who'se wives have died in childbirth don't go mentally depressed, or wives whose husband's have died in some way do do that either. I understand it is hard, but you have 2 kids who need you. This isn't a teeny romance of "I can't live without him" It should be the real (ish) world.
-
@ArodWingfoot I really don't know. All I'm saying is that it's possible to be sad/stressed out enough to develop cardiac failure which in a minority of cases is lethal. I think in this movie you have to take her death with a grain of salt but it is not completely unfounded in reality. Basically I think Lucas wanted to portray that her soulmate died and she couldn't live without him in the spiritual or force sense.

i fucking hate star wars!

@ShatteredMercury Then why did she give up the will to live when she had 2 kids?
Actually you can die from a broken heart it's called tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy. It's not often fatal especially when treated but in principle..... It's caused by a prolonged increase in adrenalin due to stress or sadness. The shit I learn in med school.... :)

@ShatteredMercury The very interesting stuff you learn in med school, I didn't know it was actually possible.

you may say he effed up the story, but you are just making it sound that way. i really wish people would get over the stupid flaws that just happen to be in classic movies. Lord of the Rings. incredible franchise, but people try to tear it apart just because of one little flaw. the truth is, just let the makers write what's in their heads and don't rag on them for it. IT'S THEIR STORY, NOT YOURS!!! if you think you can do better write one your own f*cking self.

@mullent169 Who is this directed to? I'm honestly not bothered by the changes they make, I own the original copies of Star Wars as they were released so I don't have to see the changes he made, I know some people prefer the edits and I have no problem with that, we all have different tastes and as for Lord of the Rings, I love the books and I honestly see no way to improve the films as they are all fantastic & I suggest them to everyone. But try to relax, it is only just a light hearted parody.
