Creating the Dragon Head

I sculpt, I create dragons and all things magical from clay. Goblets being my first created works of passion. These days I am a Mac technician, but to create is my first and foremost passion. Enjoy!

I look at everything as possible textures for working with clay. For the skin effect I used a Bic pen refill tube. tiny circle all over the skin looked just right from 2 feet away.

Very beautiful! But I cant understand how u did this skin texture. And cant imagine how to paint this...i think paint will stuff into skin texture. hope u catch my point, sorry for my englih(

@IadoreFrerard Hi, I answered the person above about the same question. I used a Bic pen refill tube... Looked great at a distance. Hope that helps :) Andrew

iam trying to sculppt a dragon head at the moment but iam failing @ the the shape of the head do you have some tips for me to start with it its a project for a fantasy fair thats comming in 6 months in haarzuilens the netherlands

@mjwarlock I think it is best if you get a drawing maybe of a horses head from as many angles as you can, then exaggerate some of its features to suit. Mold it so from the side it matches the profile, then match the top profile etc, before you know it you will have a complete head.
