Whats the plot on this anime?

Basically it's based in our time line (a first for the Gundam series), when fossil fuels are nearly depleted and the world relies on solar enrgy from 3 massive towers that reach into orbit. Mankind continues to kill each other in wars over power, religion and other stuff so the Gundams step in and say if the battles do not stop then they will eliminate both sides. But there's much more. It is a very good anime and my fav out of all the Gundams.
