Just some thoughts on the new Dalek design and what the purpose of the Eternal Dalek might be. And yeah, my mic is kind of crappy. Also, saying "dalek" that many times in around nine minutes is fun.

  • i dont like how plastic the daleks look! they need to look either metallic or weathered

  • @WilligsPage I'm inclined to agree, but for series 5 I think their plastic look can be passed off by them being newly created.

  • Another way to look at is to think about the DNA structure of the Daleks.

As they create more Daleks from themselves, they become less and less Dalek ya?

Perhaps the Eternal can be used to create a literally infinite amount of Daleks with genetically sound structure, 'true' Daleks?

The time travel bit just seems too blunt for Doctor Who. They're all about the subtle references, after all.

  • @Nightgodoftheshadows That's a pretty good idea. Plausible, and subtle enough for a plot twist. That could be a very interesting concept.

  • TASTE-THE-RAINBOW!!!

  • l love the 6:18 dalek, they are a new start from the begining which is why they are different and the eternal i believe is...(YOUTUBE apologizes for cutting of Christophertbrett's massage. Please try again later.)

  • i think the eternal daleks have a thicker casing and they are reserved to destroy races that are to powerful for the standard dalek to handle

  • The new daleks fenders give them less ability to go up slopes, and the height is a major problem on set

  • The Eternal is linked to the progenitor device, and I guess it is a new Dalek imperitive to make sure the Eternal survives.

P.s:The new Dalek paradigm has been in series 6 for less than 20 SECONDS!!!!

  • i mean, maybe if they were not compleatly one color, like if instead of the whole dalek being one color it would be just the helm part, or something like that.

  • i think the coloring of the Daleks exspresses too much emotion...im a new Dr. Who fan, but ive gathered that emotion and is definately not a Dalek make....imhp.

  • At 6.02 does the Eternal have grey spheres? I thought it had black ones. Was this a mistake by the producers?

  • The Daleks didn't need a redesign though, the RTD Daleks are still beautiful props.

  • also the entire plot of the episode is that the classic era daleks were true daleks, and the bronze ones were created by mutations during the time war, so the daleks had to revert to their original form in order to survive, so these arent new daleks which were created as a throwback, they're classic daleks who have been revived.
