  • My cat is very resistent to Aerokat. I tried relaxing him, giving him treats etc. Any suggestions? He really needs this.

  • Visit Pearl's blog entry to see how we did it.

Also be sure to join the inhaled med group up in the info section next to our video. They are a terrific resource with lots of tips.

  • Just found this. We are new to the whole Aerokat thing. We are finding our cat holding his breathe (the lever/indicator is no longer moving with each breath). Any tips on how to get him to stop holding his breath? Also, does the lever have to visibly move to insure effectiveness? When we hold it to his face for 10 seconds it does not move. Any suggestions will help. Thanks.

  • Try blowing in there to make sure the little tab isn't stuck with moisture. Try to give lots of treats so he is relaxed. Be sure to join the yahoo group. There are a ton of people there who all have different tricks. Pet him, get him purring. Relax him. Make it a bonding time if possible. I hope it is helping! Hope to see you on yahoo.

  • I have been using flovent via the aerokat for months with not much success of the coughing, wheezing, runny nose and stuffiness dissappearing. I finally put two and two toghether and realized it is the clumping cat litter. I am currently using unscented 99% dust free not realizing this could cause problems that appear as asthma and/or allergies. I have just seen and ad in Cat Fancy about a cat litter made by Precious Cat called Respiratory Relief which is for asthma/allergic cats .

  • I wanted to let everyone know I switched Bella to a grain free cat food called "Blue Wilderness" and she's hasn't had near the outbreaks she used to. Might be worth a try with you cat that has asthma too!

  • I have found flovent MUCH cheaper by ordering it through Canadian mail order pharmacies (one third the price of my local pharmacy) - just an FYI for any bargain hunters out there.

  • Very helpful. Thank you.

  • We pay about $200 every few months for our cat's medication. I would recommend shopping around because we found some stores with a $20 - $40 difference in price.

  • we have a cat with asthma, how much is the medication? would a humidifier help?
