Massive Oil Spill BP

In the above video you can see the massive oil spill BP is scrambling to clean up. Despite the best efforts of the U.S. Coast Guard, BP, and thousands of companies and volunteers, the Breton Sound wildlife preserve has been completely overtaken by the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Clearly, in this satellite mapped image, you can see the oil slamming into the coastline of Louisiana's Breton Sound wildlife preserve. Blind bay, Redfish Bay, Garden Island Bay and East Bay have all been destroyed by the oil slick.

The millions of feet of boom which have been deployed are no match for the shifting tides and currents. Sandbagging operations have been cancelled. The one ton bags of sand were not successful in blocking the oil because the ocean waves tore them to pieces.

The tide has shifted the oil slick 35 miles west straight into the Breton Sound tip of Louisiana. Because of heavy weather conditions, control burns were not allowed. Much of the oil resides 18 inches underwater and can not be stopped by booming and skimming.

British Petroleum is fighting hard to connect a pipe which will siphon the oil at its source 5,000 feet below the surface of the ocean.

The Deepwater Horizon rig exploded on April 20 and sank two days later. The Macondo well continues to dump thousands of gallons of oil each day.

The U.S. Coast Guard is preparing for a worst case scenario which would be complete loss of the well head. BP is hopeful they can begin to contain the spill with the insert tube.

This is not about the boycott of companies. It is about the boycott of our arrogant lifestyle, the boycott of EVERYTHING not strictly necessary to stay healthy and the boycott of the idea of constant economical growth and of a religion that tells us there is a god who GAVE US this planet.
