How would you like to have this job? Noticed this outside my house. Gotta be a damn good chopper pilot. Sorry for the roof and window intrusions into the picture. I didn't have time to move outside.

  • your video is thrilling but engender some question: how is living near a 500 kV power line? they ask your consent before to build this lattice monster & microwaves emitter sssooo close to your home? They pay some rent -allowance for your objectively devalued property?

  • @patsematary - Power lines were there before I bought the house. All potential devaluing was done long ago.

  • Actually, no, as I stated before, it's in Atlanta, GA, USA. I shot the footage myself.

  • Where is that?

  • Atlanta

  • Wish i could apply for that job, looks insane but cool in the same time.

  • I just want to ask. WTF was he doing up there anyway?

  • Transmission "high liners" do not get paid $450/hour... From what I've been told (from fellow workers) you get double time (which would be around $100 per hour here). The lineman here is working on the Shield wire which is used to protect the electric wires from lightening strikes. There is no energy flowing through the shield wire.

  • At 1:16 he had recorded over his kid in a plyroom if anyone was wondering took me a few times to catch it because it went by so fast LOL

  • @patsematary he's still living cause he don't touch ground or something conducting to ground... just like the birds, they touch power lines but they still living! how is it possible??? you must touch lines and ground a the same time to become an hot dog... :-)

  • Im going to school for electronic engineering who does the hiring for this ill do it for 450 an hour

  • You live that close to a powerline? Man you are brave.

  • @Mzege $450 dollars an hour? I'd believe $45-$60 an hour cuz it's worth it, but $450 is like more than anybody gets. I'm not calling foul though, 1 million volts+ and God only knows how many Amps are going through that line I'll take your word for it. I just wish I knew sooner how much they got, cuz you get a faraday cage suit on and use a rod to ground out you should be OK, just make sure you don't make any mistakes because u get burnt to a crisp and kill your pilot
