@indaplace2b No offense man, but there is a reason why he's on stage at a international jazz festival and your not. These guys are ALL pros, they know 100times more then any of us on this board combined. And the album version is 'produced' , live versions are never produced they are performed and rarely the same. That's jazz my friend ;-). And if you listen, Garrett is playing inside the box alot on this solo, he starts to go "out" towards the end.

Much more prefer the album version ...I'm a massive Kenny Garrett fan and hes is normally good at playing groove/funk but he's starts playing outside stuff way too early. The drummer is good but too busy too soon ... The guy on clavi should be shot!! It could be the recording here but the whole thing just sounds really messy....
