I cant help but feel a similarity between the Taiwanese aboriginal music and dance and that of the aboriginal American tribes. ALso, many aspects of Asian and Pacific tribal culture and American tribal cultre are so similar, it is crazy to assume there was no contact between the two for tens of thousands of years: how could the cultures and music have remained so stable if they are supposed to have diverged so long ago???

@XBoxLiveissoboring the theory is the other way around, filipinos are direct descendants of amis from taiwan. also the austronesian languages in taiwan are more diverse than the languages outside of taiwan.

ancestor of the Malagasy people are descendants of the people of majapahit kingdom from Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi, so they are part of the Austronesian people who have Asian features (but not mentioned as part of the Mongoloid race).

whereas in eastern Indonesia, people tend to have a mixture of features between Melanesia and Asia (West Timorese,Moluccas people and some tribe in Sulawesi island) or in other words that are similar to those Polynesian.

but more than that, they are all part of the culture and Austronesian family..

if guided by this opinion, will not be surprised if many found in various human characteristics in southeast asia.ranging from straight hair to curly hair,light browned skin to dark browned skin,slant eyes to almond eyes. characteristics of Indonesian people is a very appropriate example, where the Indonesian community in the western region (sumatra,java and Kalimantan/Borneo), which their area closer to the mainland asia,will have thick Asian features like those of Thai, or Burmese people,

Sundaland itself is derived from southeast asia, and about southeast asian people including Mongoloid race or not, you could say yes in the past ( if guided by a theory that they originated from southern China) but not now..theory that the first southeast Asian region is inhabited by austroloid people (Melanesian), who is black, it is possible that Southeast Asian people now is the mixture of Austronesian and Austroloid (melanesian).

@NirinaGasikara yes..Austronesian is quite different with Chinese..people in China mainland that referred as Chinese is Han people or Sino-tibetan family,including manchu and mongolia.many historians said that the Austronesian people came from southern China, while a recent study said that the Austronesian people came from the land used is called Sundaland, where the land was eventually drowned when the ice age melt. so this is still a controversy and mystery for the world.

@NirinaGasikara can be said that almost all the indigenous tribes (Austronesian) in Taiwan right now is a result of intermarriage between the Austronesian people and Mongoloids from China mainland.not surprising that many people are now more physically connect them with the Mongolian race (Yellow race) instead of brown (Austronesian race / dark).but they language and culture still showed their identities as Austronesian people..

Technically the Filipino people are the ancestors of the Ami tribe Since I'm Filipino since they found the genetics more close to the Ami tribe and the Ami tribe is closely related to the chinese technically so we are like brothers and sisters its the same thing with indonesia and thai.
