This way you can just use your iPod touch/ iPhone built-in Calendar app WITHOUT using Safari at all and you don't need to be online for it. As soon as you get a connection eventually, it can sync. It's better for a quick view and a quick add to your Calendar without waiting for your iPhone to connect to anything.
