This is a class-draft; a draft by another name of those who are unable to navigate the civilian economy.

When you really look at it, the War in Iraq is ultimately a class war. Except the class that fights it didn't decide to fight, and isn't fighting in their class interest.

While doubtless some kids are motivated by slick commercials and calls to patriotic duty, it is virtually assured that for many young folks, if they were born into a family of means, their patriotism would be displayed by flags unfurled in their dorm rooms, or fluttering on the breeze outside their windows.

  • Not all poor men have the money for college bandgeek. We are a capitalist society for our own selfish reasons

  • You think its easy to go work and go to college at the same time??? For some people, its either one or the other. And if you need a full time job to survive, or even 2 jobs, which more working americans find theirselves doing these days, theres no way in hell you can go to college full time. Sorry buddy, not everyone can get their parents to pay their tuitions or get student loans.

  • just the reality that we cant live in a world peacfully,is prolly one of the biggest wake up call to us young folks,we've been led all our lives that peace is the answer and is eventually, but there cant be peace if people r at war,a war on many levels many sides.

  • He didn't kill that racist cop and everybody in the justice dpt knows it. maybe he should have in hindsight if they where gonna lock him up and throw away the key away. for those to ignorant to use their own logic, mumia is in jail for his political beliefs it has nothing to do with that poor white cop. who has probably killed many in his day anyway. It is his mind that is feared that is why he is being held hostage in the prison system.

  • fair enough,if you want to celebrate a murderer thats up to you

  • Hes paying his debt by serving life in prison, his political commentary is irrelevant to that. If you dont like it dont listen

  • mumia murdered danny faulkner and now he has to pay for it with life in prison.i think he needs to shut up and pay his debt.

  • If thats true, Danny faulkner ain't getting it regardless of what he does or doesn't do.

  • he took much more then that from danny faulkner.

  • He has the right to voice them just as anyone else has the right to ignore him. Taking away prisoners right of speech would not be something i'd endorse

  • if he's helping other prisoners then so be it but i dont think he has a right to voice his opinion about political matters.

  • I meant, if you consider the guilt of Mumia to be true, then isn't it good he's doing what little good he can in prison as oppose to succumbing to typical prison behavior?
