    Rnady Newman was a satirist before he started writing stuff for movies. A true humanist, he may be the most misunderstood and underappreciated American composer out there. Just read the comments of any Newman video out there ... a lot of people just don't get satire.

    Randy Newman was always an anomaly. Number one song the year this was released was The First Time Ever I saw Your Face by Roberta Flack. Not a bad song, but definitely not poignant lyrics with grand melodies.
