Just like old times! I think that's everybody's standard-issue fave, sometimes with beer as an alternative (one of my LAN pals and I are fans of Three Floyds, New Holland, Okocim, etc.). And our Quake of choice was Quake 2. Blood was our top fave in the late '90s, though, because it offered so many versatile methods of pwnage. Plus, the single-player game rocked hard. Oh, and Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown on Playstation. We used to do 1-on-1 tourneys with a link cable.
Being a LAN fan since 1997, this takes me back. Circa 2001, our games of choice were Soldier of Fortune and Red Faction. Before that, it was Doom 2, Quake, and the original Blood. Also Half-Life. We still play Opposing Force at our LANs. Before there was Left 4 Dead, there was BrainBread. I tried to get my buddies into it but it just didn't jive.
