It is physically impossible to start with no marble in the middle and end with 1 in the middle

there is no way in with the set up of this board (European) to end the game if you start with the empty hole in the middle.

There are many places to start this game. It's actually much easier to start with the empty space in the middle, so I think this person made a harder game of it.

To start the game you have one missing from the very middle and then finish the game with the last marble in the middle. is the correct way to play this game :) cheers
