The first test drive of my 83 Fifth Ave after installing a fuel injected motor from a 1994 Dodge Ram pickup.

I have been driving this car for 3 months now and put over 5000 miles since the motor swap. Everything is still working great. And yes the windsheild has been replaced!

  • thats nice work my first car was the 84 fith

  • Hey thanks! This is also my first car. I've had it since I was 14 and been improving on it ever since.

  • have you done any 1/4 mile testing on this to see what it can do? it would be interesting to see the difference, even if u just did it at home, and time your 0-60.

  • lol with the original engine the 0-60 was about 14 seconds. The magnum engine does about 7.3 seconds. Im not sure what the quarter mile time is yet, but ill find out this summer when I get the car back out of storage. Thanks for your interest!

  • Im diggin on this. How hard was it to put in? Anything I should take note of? And was the '94 drivetrain expensive? I want to do this to my '78 dippy. Damn cool car for sure!

    Are you using the 904?

  • Hey thanks, The engine is a direct drop in with the exception of cutting a hole in the tranny bell housing for the crankshaft position sensor. Other than that just add an electric fuel pump with atleast 40 psi and get a wiring diagram for the computer harness. Im still using the stock 904 tranny with about 140k on it and everything is holding up great! I bought the engine and wire harness off ebay for $500 and it only has 50,000 miles on it. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!
