I really don't get the appeal of these things. Do we really need to use all that plastic for a square foot and a half of garden space? Is it really that hard to remember to water a square foot and a half of garden space? btw theres not enough room in that container for all those plants.

Im going to try this for growing lettuce and cilantro next summer. I always have trouble with them bolting to seed when it gets so hot here and I think this will solve the problem of them not getting enough water to self irrigate in the heat of the day. Thanks for the great idea.

Great idea. Instead of using that net, will a piece of cotton rag works?
Well, you need something pretty rigid to hold up the soil. I would be afraid that cotton fabric would sag and stretch between the cups. Anything strong with holes will work!
