Slick was @ her strength in the studio. Witnessing her live @ the Hollywood Bowl was a great disappointment. Her drunken rude contests with the audience nearly started a riot & certainly shortened the Starship's performance.
Still, J. Starship was, is & will always be one of my top fave performing groups......just not live. Red Octopus, Spitfire, Earth, Dragonfly all good to great albums (remember vinyl?).

@Sortsdam What you have some romantic notion of how a fan should talk/feel? I was in the business for 14 years and trust me all this romantic bullshit of how deep and sensitive most of the artists are is bullshit. Put that much power, money and fame in the hands of someone under thirty and you get a first class asshole with rare exception and I knew a very good portion of them in the 60's-80's.

Maybe there will be a revival of this music.... Damn my kids are gonna be looking back at this era in music and think we were all ridiculously stupid - and I won't be able to disagree with them.

Best Airplane / Starship album by far. Used to listen the hell out of this one. Their best. No contest. Every song is fantastic.

I was born only 23 years ago but the early 70s and the 60s music is absolutely THE BEST. Airplane - one of my fav bands, Slick - my fav female singer, Red Octopus - a great album from Jefferson Starship. Thanks for posting! :-)

Excellent tune. Reminds me of summers when I was teen! THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Still love the music today. And so do my kids!
