  • @MrBeaverthief From birth to age 29, Jesus lived a normal life.

There's a prophecy in Daniel 9:25 that foretold when the Messiah/Christ/(Anointed One) would arrive. It mentions 7 weeks or 49 years (from the word to restore Jerusalem--455BC) + 62 weeks or 434 years (when Messiah arrives--29CE). At his baptism in 29 CE, Jesus was anointed with holy spirit, thus becoming the Messiah/Christ. He was 30 years old & that's also when he began his 3 1/2 year ministry--Luke 3:23.

  • @MrBeaverthief Luke traced Jesus' genealogy thru his mother, Mary (daughter of Heli), proving Jesus' NATURAL RIGHT to David's throne.

Matthew lists Jesus' genealogy from Joseph, Jesus' adopted father, proving that Jesus had the LEGAL RIGHT as firstborn adopted son thru Solomon & David. By adopting Jesus, Joseph gave him the legal right to David's throne. Thus, Jesus is called Joseph's son--Luke 4:22. (Also carpenter's son.)

  • @MrBeaverthief Give the specific contradictions of the resurrection (of whom?).Luke & Matthew both report on the virgin birth. Matt1:18--Mary pregnant by holy spirit.

Matt1:25--Joseph had no intercourse with Mary until her son was born.

    Luke1:26-38--miraculous conception.

Luke was not eyewitness of all the events he recorded. Luke compiled factual statements from eyewitnesses for Theophilus, & thru him to us--Luke1:1-3.

Luke traced all things accurately, giving dates, names of officials...

  • @MrBeaverthief Give me the specific descrepancy in Kings I.

Gen, Ex, Lev, Num, Deut were all one book (Pentateuch); note that Num & Lev both begin with "And..." Moses is credited with writing it; the closing verses of Deut were most likely written after Moses' death by Joshua or Eleazar, high priest.

Ex 17:14--God told Moses to write.

Ex 34:27--God told Moses to write terms of Covenant.

    Ex 24:4--Moses wrote God's words.

John5:46,47--Jesus said Moses wrote about him.

  • @MrBeaverthief I'm NOT saying that the Epic of Gilg. is an attempt to describe Noah's flood (who knows?!); the 2 flood accounts are vastly different, however. After Noah's global flood, people no doubt talked about it.

And no, the Chinese are not older than Noah. We ALL descended from Noah, thru his 3 sons.

  • @MrBeaverthief Noah's flood happened over 4,000 yrs ago in 2370 BC. The Bible gives the specific year, month, & day when it began to when the waters dried off the land--Gen7 & 8. Even the exact size of the ark, with ratios for support & stability, are given; modern shipbuilders use these same ratios of 10L to 1 ht, 6L to 1w.

Epic of Gilg. had a huge cube about 200 ft on each side (clumsy)& built in 7 days!

Biblical acct does NOT copy the Epic myth!

  • @Roxxoxo Specific Bible Contradictions: Kings I&II have different royal lineage. Genesis & Exodus -allegedly by Moses- couldn't have been, because many parts are in 3rd person and/or depict places & events after his death, including his own burial. The gospels have conflicting accounts of the resurrection, and only one mentions virgin birth. Jesus couldn't have descended from David if Joseph wasn't his real father. And no account of the "world's savior" between age 12 & 28? What happened there?

  • @Roxxoxo And here again you prove my point for me without even realizing it. Asian culture is far older than Noah. Existence of flood mythology in the common folklore in virtually every culture on earth doesn't lend any credence whatsoever to biblical claims of "truth". It merely attests to the fact that periodic floods occur on earth, a known fact. The bible was cobbled together over centuries from myriad myths & folktales. Written by primitive men with no understanding of science & nature.

  • @Roxxoxo Wow really? First of all, "myth" & "mythology" are the same thing. Also my friend, I am afraid you are again mistaken. It is the bible that is derived from these ancient mythologies. Epic of Gilgamesh predates the OT buy hundreds of years. Of course all cultures have ancient flood mythology (Noah is just the most recent), because the earth flooded when the ice caps thawed 15-20,000 yrs ago. Everything shifted & resettled. Has nothing to do with the bible. Does not offer any proof at all

  • @MrBeaverthief The Bible claims to be inspired of God--2 Tim3:16,17. If this is true, what should you expect of it? It should be given to all mankind; found globally. It makes the Guinness Book of World records! It's the most copied, translated, & distributed book ever! It's the most widely read book in history--almost everyone has one or can get one! It's very old--contains our history all the way to Adam!Genesis was completed in 1513 BCE.

What else should you expect of a book from God?
