Very rare and personal interview with Jimi
at his apartment.
He is interviewed by Thomas Lopez, who
does an outstanding job.
Rare pictures are from flickr's rising70's album.

  • he's around the same age as my grandad and when my grandad was at school he was left handed but made to write with his right hand so he is now kinda ambidextrous - probably what happened to jimi hendrix - could do everything with his left hand but it's a right handed world so he had to do everything with his right hand too :)

  • @MoLLyTiShxx Hi Molly. You are correct. Jimi's brother Leon would talk about how Jim's father would catch Jimi playing lefty and discipline him for it. So for this reason, Jimi learned to play righty, and so whenever his father would walk in the room, he would quickly flip it.

In fact he was so talented in his playing that he could play with the strings in reverse, lefty OR righty. Just think about that. Mick Jagger said in an interview that he could play just as well righty as he did lefty.

  • Jimi is the greatest in the eyes of many and I cannot dispute this but for me Alvin Lee is THE MAN. Alvin is still rocking' and performing at 67. I wish Jimi and Janis and Otis were still here. I saw all of them live back in 69 and 70. Good times. Thanks for uploading the interview.

  • nice photos

  • Yeah, he was shagging all those girls. Left, right & center! Get some.

  • Jimi comes across as a real funny guy.I think hangin' out with him would of been wonderful.Great interview felt like I was just sitting next to him.

  • @fpcrunner Man your words make a whole lot of sense! I dont think jimi was a sell out either..but in my heart, I think the evil powers of the industry had somethin to do with his death..real talk! its always the best artist's that die early and odd! knw what im sayin??

  • @SaucisseMerguez hahaha, I'm a Hendrix nut hugger like nobody's business, but thats funny. I imagine Jimi would be on your boat here too, he wasn't such a fan of the celebrity status and expectations and all that shit were people blow him up outta proportion. He punched one guy in the face for complimenting him once, he apologized later, but that shows his animosity towards that so...

  • @drummerdummy exactly, i guess them dying is often just how rock is, they just die and they have a longer lasting legacy, see you man ;)

  • @SaucisseMerguez i guess i took your comment out of context. you are right, he was no better than any of us. we are all gifted. its just a matter of whether whatever gifts we have are embraced early enough so it can flourish into something great. i still think Jimi was probably one of the best if not THE best rock-n-roller this country has had. it seems so true only the good die young while the demons are left to run amok. coincidence or conspiracy, who knows? not me, im not privy to that intel.

  • @drummerdummy well theres no doubt he was talented but i mean the guy talking in the intro is like choking down his balls "oh he was unbelievable the atmosphere was electrical" and all that stuff, get a room.

  • @SaucisseMerguez thats where you are wrong. Jimi was one of the few who was a very talented songwriter/musician/performer who never sold out and stayed true to himself and his beliefs. he didn't allow himself to be overcome by money and the evil powers that control the industries. that is why he was taken out along with many others with integrity who stayed true to themselves and their beliefs. those who cannot be bought out and inspire are put into the ground...PERIOD!
