Another satellite of the CFTD (Center For The Disabled) main location on Pearl Street in Albany, this the the New Karner Road facility where these wonderful folks have allowed me to entertain them for a summer parking lot blow-out every year since 1998 (and they don't charge me a dime for doing it!)

Between the main center in Albany and the two satellites, doing 5 or 6 benefit performances a year refills my "love cup" to the brim. These friends are the best audiences an entertainer can dream to have.

Again, give and listen to the system in a totally uncovered outdoor scenario and let your eyes and ears judge for yourself on how the Compact might fit nicely into your mobile DJ style of performance and equipment preferences.

  • The L1 Compact is NOT recommended for any sized group above 80-100 in a smaller sized room. I use two L1 Classic (Model 1) and four B1 bass bins for any and every event 100 to 400 people. At 400 or more I ask to be placed on a riser/stage. At 500 or more, I will add a powered sub.

  • VirtualDJ

  • That is stupid. Stupid in the sound output of those damn things. I know what makes them sing, but they still amaze me.

  • @pcfxer : I understand the amazement completely.

If the magic that David Copperfield does were renamed psycho-visualization (the eye being delightfully tricked and fooled), the the BOSE design, being called psycho-acoustics (the ear being delightfully tricked and fooled) is no different.

Who cares about the physics or the mechanical aspects of "how did they do that?"

It does, and that's all that matters (to the eye and ear).

  • These are the L1 Compacts, 1/4" mono from mixer into 1/4" input on the Compact. No T1, no wired remote, mixer EQ running flat. Although the T1 is compatible with the Compact, for my mobile DJ applications, it's way over-kill.
