HD7970 Ge is the fastest single-GPU in the world right now and it didn't get there by having shitty drivers. AMD drivers increases in the last 8 months have been nothing short of impressive, cutting the performance lead in BF3 and Crysis 2 to single % digits and sweeping 680 in a wide variety of titles from Sleeping Dogs, Dirt Showdown, Alan Wake, ARMA II games, Metro 2033, Witcher 2, Anno 2070, etc. I would say the drivers were poor in the beginning but since Cats 12.6, they are top notch.
