First off to clear up confusion, the first person known to eastbay was Orlando Woolridge (JR Smith would make it popular in 1994).
The first person known to eastbay off TWO feet was Joey Johnson in 1990. Jameel however was the one who brought the two foot eastbay to Vince Carter's attention. I'm NOT claiming Jameel was the first to eastbay or eastbay off two feet, merely his 2 foot eastbay was inspiration for Vince doing it in 2000. Now that we have that out of the way...

Here is Jameel Pugh in high school killing the Gymrats Midnight Madness dunk contest back in 1999. Vince Carter had been quoted in the paper that he had seen Jameel's 2 Foot between the legs dunk and decided to use it in the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest taking a bounce lob from Tmac.

The Gym Rat Midnight Madness Game is the craziest and most underground allstar game there is. Many other NBA players to play in it were Tracy McGrady, Stephon Marbury, Josh Smith, Antoine Walker, Richard Hamilton, TJ Ford, Shaun Livingston, Troy Murphy, Marvin Williams, Deshawn Stevenson, Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer, Drew Gooden, Nazr Mohammed, Jonathan Bender, Dion Glover, Mo Williams, Jameer Nelson, Donnel Harvey, Trevor Ariza, Leon Powe, Gerald Green, Gerald Henderson, Wayne Ellington, Tyreke Evans, and MANY MANY MORE. • Vince did things that no one has tried in the NBA. Big difference.

  • @Luraj7 rider of one feet

  • who gives a shit. vince did it with millions of eyes watching him and all the pressure in the world to win that 2000 dunk contest. and whats up with calling it eastbay? its a between the legs dunk. that funky name shit is lame as hell. the "Honey Dip" LOL.........ps: vince carter made this jameel guys dunks look way better

  • hey whats the difference between rider and eastbay?

  • The difference is one is good at dunking, and the other was good enough to make it to the NBA, dunk on anything in his way, and score 20,000+ points along the way.

  • @liflyguy Was he on CitySlam? I bet he was.....

  • @mumsdawerd street baller never played in nba, i wish i could find the name

  • @liflyguy damn, that's crazy man. I didn't know he practiced that 360 at nike camp. I wish i knew who it was where he got the idea from, lol. Is that guy you're talking about, does he play in the NBA or is he a streetballer?

  • @mumsdawerd ya its def jameel, i remember hoopstv.com havin tons of interviews and jameel said that vince hit him up saying he liked the dunk.....he got that 360windmill from some 1 else too, it was @ a nike camp, him and this other guy were the highest jumpers, i cant remember dudes name but I read it some where, its a famous dunker too, some1 @ hoops mixtape def knows

  • @liflyguy yup, if memory serves me right, Vince Carter specifically stated in an interview that he took the elbow dunk from Jameel Pugh as well. A lot of the stuff he did in the 2000 dunk contest he emulated from Jameel. With the exception of that phenomenal REVERSE 360 that he got a perfect score from the judges.
