Your all dumb shits giving stats an numbers 90% of drag is driver. You can have a car that car that can run 6 sec 1/4 but if you can't drive worth shit it doesn't matter what your racing. The plan an simple is the lighting is a 5.4l triton with a charger at about 10-12psi stock that Dakota is more than likely a r/t with a 5.9 V-8 for the dumbshit that said it's a v-6. And absolutely the gmc trucks mentioned are probably still the fastest factory trucks out there

Once again, both the Lightning and the R/T (my old truck) were modded, I had bolt ons but no supercharger or nitrous and out drove the Lightning owner. Plan and simple.

Actually, the first "tuner" trucks was made by GMC.....Cyclone and the Typhoon.... they where made from 1990 halfway thru 1991. 4.3L V-6 with a turbo and all wheel drive....sorry to say, bone stock against bone stock, they are some of the quickest if not the quickest in the quarter mile. at their time the only two vehicles that could beat them(bone Stock) was the Buick Grand National and the Buick GNX.

@Happysanta00 I'm going to have to disagree with your statement. The Toyota X-Runners are nice, except that the S-Runner came first in 2001, then in 2005 the X-Runner came to be. Ford already had the Lightning starting in 1993. Dodge introduced the Dakota R/T in 1998, but in 1989 there was the Shelby Dakota, which for it's time was a pretty good truck. So all in all, I would consider the Shelby Dakota one of the first "tuner" pickups. I can't think of any trucks before this right now.
